“A Tory Government at Westminster would be best for the ‘Yes’ campaign”

Richard Wyn Jones has told Politics Cymru that a victory for the Conservatives at the next General Election (as expected) would help to unite the Welsh Labour party behind the campaign for more powers to be devolved to the Welsh Assembly.

Richard is the director of the Institute of Welsh Politics at Aberystwyth University (he’ll be moving down to Cardiff University next year to head the Wales Governance Centre).

In conversation with our very own Dewi Dau, he also said that the Welsh public don’t know as much as they think they do about the Assembly and that the complexity of the system undermines the legitimacy of the political process.
